During the day I put on some music and do some dancing in the lounge room with my 18 month old. Even if it is only for 15 minutes it is a way of getting some exercise and having fun with my daughter at the same time.

When going to the shops, don't always look for the closest carpark. Park a little bit further away to get more exercise in your day. You won't even notice it.

When shopping load up your trolley with the fruit and vegetables first. As the trolley is already half full there is less room to add unnecessary processed foods on top.

I like to ride my exercise bike whilst watching tv. It's easy to lose track of how long you've been riding and you don't feel so guilty for spending a couple of hours watching telly.

Even if you are not vegetarian, borrow some vegetarian cooking books from your local library and try some recipes from the 'how to make salad and vegies interesting' experts. You will be amazed at the variety of taste sensations you can achieve.

Make a menu before you go shopping for the groceries. That way you're not tempted to throw a frozen pizza into the trolley or, worse, pick up takeaway on the way home.
